Insulin Resistance Calculator
What is Insulin Resistance?
When a lot of blood sugar enters the blood stream, the pancreas releases more insulin to get this blood sugar into the body cells but over the time, body’s cells stop responding to all that insulin and become insulin resistant. This condition is called insulin resistance.
How To Calculate
Step 1: Do a "Fasting Insulin" test. A fasting insulin test measures your insulin levels after a fasting period of 10 to 12 hours. To do this, you must contact your local pathology lab.
Step 2: Measure your "Fasting Blood Sugar". Fasting blood sugar is the measure of your blood sugars after 10 to 12 hours of fasting. To do this, you may use your own glucometer or contact your nearest pathology lab.
Step 3: Input your readings in the calculator along side and contact us with your results
